I'd like to point out the following connections: * "I'm a canvas that bleeds / And I'm painted with fingers..." - "I've bled just to have your touch" from "User Friendly" * "I'm a VCR / A funeral of dead memory waste / You can see it on my face" - "Record me with your fist" from "Get Your Gunn" - "I've got a face that's made for violence upon" from "Disposable Teens" Also to consider: "Oh look, you're like a VCR / Stick something in to know / Just who you are" from "New Model No. 15" And I can't help noticing that the audio recording took place on April 1st - April Fool's Day. Hmm. |

| Marilyn Manson – Diamonds & Pollen Lyrics | 2 years ago |

"And all your sad endings are planting in their gardens And they're waiting to grow & to die like flowers do" The difference between pollination and planting is like the difference between conceiving your own child and adopting someone else's. A "sad ending" massage would be one without ejaculation, and thus without any possibility of conception - hence "planting," adopting (and not pollinating, conceiving) in their gardens. When you see it this way, the entire song seems to be about a loss of fertility. In the beginning, there was pregnancy, sluts, some Pagan rituals ("fire worship"), conception ("braiding threads" of DNA), and hard-ons and sperm ("diamonds and pollen")... but all those symbols of fertility are suddenly lost in the deadness of Coma White. The earth remains fertile (pomegranate = a textbook symbol of fertility), but... maybe there is no one left to fertilize it (or to enjoy its fertility) because we've all become sterile and soulless Mechanical Animals. |
