George Michael – A Different Corner Lyrics 2 years ago
From the _Gay Times_ (July 2007)
>'A Different Corner' also seemed to be about a specific situation, you splitting up with someone…
>Oh yeah! It was actually my first true infatuation – it involved no proper sex, nothing. Think about how self-obsessed first love is. It was me going, “I’m ready to feel this now”. The other person is almost incidental – they’re the victim, really. I obsessed about this person for ages, and soon after I met him he said; “I don’t want to be your boyfriend”. Which was a very clever thing to say at the time.

Wham! – Everything She Wants Lyrics 2 years ago
George drew from his experience and ornamented it a bit. Of course he wasn't married, but he did "date" women. There was one in particular that did try to take advantage of him for fame and money, and when he finally told her to beat it, she sold George to out the press with lies about a relationship. It's hard to tell though, this song could easily be inspired by that situation, whereas "Credit Card Baby" illustrates it directly.

Wham! – Everything She Wants Lyrics 2 years ago
He did "date" women in the 80s so he does have some experience with hetero relationships. There was one that tried to ride his coattails of fame and fortune and when he told to beat it, she went running to the tabloids and sold George out.

Wham! – Credit Card Baby Lyrics 2 years ago
Michael drew his inspiration from his life. This is about the early days of Wham!, more specifically George Michael's relationship with Pat Fernandes. In the song the singer, as generous as he is, didn't regret having bought "the lady" what she had asked for, but all the same he knew she was using him.
