It's a metaphor about a park/place where people go to 'make-out'....fog the windows up so much so that people can't see you and you can't see them. That's the whole idea behind 'making out in a park' is it not? It was also a place to throw out a blanket on a Sunday afternoon or a holiday. Particularly after church. Maybe get some smooching time in or sneak a few 'foundlings' if you thought no one might see ya. The surprise of it all if you went there one such evening to 'make-out' and got to talk her into your backseat and made it to 'third base' he or she might have gotten the infamous 'crabs'! Hence how the park got it the name 'Itchcoo'! Case solved! Such a place was called 'Mel Ot Park' in Gretna, La. |

STOP THE PRESSES.......all this guesswork in the hopes of solving a riddle. Or like in the game of 'Clue'. Why not just ask 'Jethro Tull'. Surely someone must have an 'in' to know how to contact him. This is what Wikipedia says which makes more sense: "Something of a departure from the band's previous work, the album features more acoustic material than previous releases; and—inspired by photographs of homeless people on the Thames Embankment taken by singer Ian Anderson's wife Jennie—contains a number of recurring themes, addressing religion along with Anderson's own personal experiences." |
