| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics

I don't think anyone wrote this but Joe Orton was a playwright who wrote a script for a movie the Beatles that was never made and Paul was acting as a liaison. Joe was horribly murdered by his boyfriend and they played a day in a life at his funeral the lines about a lucky man who made the grade and I'd love to turn you on sounded so much like Orton's short life. It's almost eerie to listen to the song from that POV. In fact a day in a life in the movie made about Orton's life prick up your ears

This is my favorite s & g album from like listening to it at my brother's in the early 70's . Is it even possible that I actually studied tailoring? To shape the shoulder pads you have to do like a million tiny stitches. I just don't see rhyming Simon putting up with it. |

This song for me is about an incest survivor who grew up to be a woman warrior
When your backs to wall and your love is your all, then side with with whoever your may . . . . Seek that which within lies waiting to begin . . .The fight of life that is everyday |

Since I played this album almost on a tape loop - all the time, I thought it was a prescription for getting ahead in your art career and that had great meaning for me
And since they were all former artists, it made a lot of sense |

| Talking Heads – Take Me To The River Lyrics

I listened to this song and the album it came from almost on a tape loop (1980) and it's meaning was sort of implied to me
It's a song about being in a one sided relationship and take me the river is about the humiliation of constantly being a fool for this person and begging them to just drown them in the river and TH version always sounded even more desperate it's not heavy, maybe there's another layer there underneath about sex abuse |

This song is the clearest form of traumatic stress I have ever heard in my life!
The way the music guitar chords flash by like lightning, the up & down of the song's lyrics
"Daydream Nightmare" is a pretty good phrase for the trauma theme & who can fault Steve's singing & harp playing? |
