“Tell me nothing ever counts, lashing out or breaking down; still somebody loses, ’cause there’s no way to turn around.” Statements like that ruin even the most beautifully relatable love songs for me, because they miss the whole point of what love is about, which is unity. Being as close as we can– even until there are no barriers between us–and sharing every experience. Everything counts, for better or worse, because everything is derivative from and/or can be conducive to our love. Breaking down can enable or accelerate healing, and help us understand each other much better. Nobody “loses”, and there’s no reason to turn around; we can rebuild and move forward together, even stronger than we could have alone. Even lashing out can have the same benefits, though it’s always best to consistently work together rather than against each other. Being able and willing to share our most vulnerable and even humbling moments is essential to any loving relationship; from friendship, to marriage, to civilization. It’s only a “loss” if you let your ego win. It only “never counts” if you never gain anything valuable from it. Just being able to share the experience is a profound benefit that makes all of the pain worth it. Everything that connects us matters. |

| @[DeadWithoutMusic:45829] You can't "get over" unconditional love or the pain that derives from it. You can only find a way to live without the person and despite the pain. | |
