| The song is beautiful, people who say the lyrics are terrible need to understand the meaning of the cake is melting in the rain..He met this girl in the oark..he goes back to the park years later and the emotions hit so hard he starts crying..and the park is "melting" because his eyes are blured with tears..green icing melting down..rain is a metaphor for tears..it's simple if you can see the cake as the park and the tears as rain and it melts down and he can't make the cake again, this is a one of a kind first love that cannot be replicated..my take on this lyric | |
