My interpretation of this song is about an alternate ending to the book of Revelations in the Bible. What if in the final battle God loses? Heaven falls and Lucifer is victorious. God's army is defeated and there is no 2nd coming. The prophecy was wrong and humanity is doomed to eternal damnation. |

If you listen to the entire album and pay close attention to the lyrics, each song references or coincides with the lines of the poem. I think it's pretty genius. The poem itself tells of a post-apocalyptic world with two survivers. But if you read between the lines it's a story of love, loss, and sorrow. |
