This gorgeous song is about the deep internal loneliness we can experience as we are only with ourselves our whole life. No matter the life you live, how large or small, you will always only truly have yourself to guide you. This song reinforces the inevitable reminder that you are always going to end up alone with yourself through life. |

I think the song definitely has the underlying topic of suicide, but also about modern society and the glorification of childhood.
"Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it" in the song feels as if discussing how life moves so fast that the things that bother you can't hold you down, your options are su!cide or ignoring it to carry on the next inevitable problem. With the harsh lessons/ experiences, we go through growing up are an extensive option of what to dwell on. Childhood is often romanticized as innocence and peacefulness but leaves out bullying, mental health issues and parent/ peer relationships, all of which are paving stones for how the rest of our lives will work; and if that all goes to hell you can "... kill yourself or get over it" |

I think the song is about a guy in a relationship who is greedy for attention and approval. The man is greedy for attention on the surface but deeper than that for validation. He wants success and validation, whether trying to win games or with the women he selects. "You want in, but you just can't win" can be taken 2 ways in my mind, literally he wants in the games at the party but sucks too badly to play, or wants "in" to feel accepted, or part of the cool guys, but he can't win their attention/approval. His insecurity are only being shown to the girl, she knows he's "Shinning like a gun, medal cold and unsure" with a nice outside and is scared on the inside; scared of disapproval or isolation. The keyword is "scared", as he is described as " You're not mean, you just want to be seen" describing how his fears and insecurities guide his decisions, trying desperately for approval from others, creating this greed. |

I think it's about a person who has experienced a breakup or been broken up with and has a person, who could be the person from the relationship or just another person, now observing them. Observes they are now almost empty-eyed, and with eyes being said to be the gateway to the soul, they have disconnected to their soul or to their old self and have nothing showing the true person behind the eyes as they mask their emotions, feelings or discontinuing communication with others. "Somewhere in these eyes, fall back to place, fall back to place" is a call to reconnect with their soul and to come back to reality as they have their soul floating, as if in space. |

I think the song emphasizes the progression of a relationship drifting apart and eventually ending once the final soft straw is pulled away. The song talks about how others can end things with ease "Good love, goodbye" showing closure of the relationship ending, but not acceptance.
Being left and letting the other go in a relationship is one part, but the hardest part is the acceptance and discovery that occurs after. "Never thought it would mean so much" supports the point that a "self-discovery" (if you would) period post-relationship is a large compartment of what the song talks about, how you can go through blame/ anger about what you did or didn't do during the time together, as "other people want to keep in touch" but how the relationship or people are not Other people. |
