Descendents – I Like Food Lyrics 2 years ago
I like food, food tastes good!
I like food, food tastes good!
Juicy burgers, greasy fries
Turkey legs and raw fish eyes
Teenage girls with ketchup too!
Get out of my way, or i'll eat you!
I like food, food tastes good!
I like food, food tastes good!
I'm going to turn dining back into eating.
I like food, food tastes good!

I think this song is about the geopolitical situation of Hungary. (Just kidding. It's about food. I like food too.)

Green Day – Going to Pasalacqua Lyrics 2 years ago
According to GeekStinkBreath.net, this song (and this makes sense, doesn't it?) is about a strong love that is on/off. Infatuation means a strong admiration that's short lived and the lyrics 'Touches me just when I thought that it would end' do make sense for this particular meaning. Also, on the website, they said that, while they (I mean geekstinkbreath.net, not Green Day) did some research (pardon these parenthesis, but I also looked it up with no success), they were only able to find that, and they were unsure about this as it was in an obscure corner of the internet, Pasalacqua was a funeral home in Rodeo, California, which, if this were true, would suggest that this partner was dying or at least growing old.

By the way, if you were a resident of Rodeo, CA at around 1989 or 1990, if you could comment on this or contact GSB, that would be very helpful to the song meaning.

Zebrahead – Hello Tomorrow Lyrics 2 years ago
@[steve0steve:46221] I agree. This song is very relatable- I've had more than one instance in which I needed a new day to come. This is a new anthem for me, where if a bad day comes there's always a new one. One of the lyrics, 'You bring me down when I'm getting high', is like when you are doing something and feel good- and then the bad karma of that day comes and you are left very frustrated.

Sum 41 – Confusion And Frustration In Modern Times Lyrics 2 years ago
I'm so tired of people saying 'what a fantastic song!' and leaving it at that. It's SongMEANINGS, not Songopinions.

By the way, this song in my opinion is Deryck pointing out many faults of this lie of a 'society'. We are so intolerant of each other as culture, refuse to accept things like gay or black people or other cultures.

For the religious people here, he is telling them to, while they can continue praying, they shouldn't expect an almighty being to solve every problem we have.

And what have they done to MUSIC?! Back then, musicians had more integrity than modern-day musicians. For example, even as Sum 41 converted to indiepop as many pop punk and emo bands have, they still have the classic integrity of many people from somewhat unusual genres like punk or emo. Even while Fall Out Boy has always been lax about innuendos, they still are much cleaner and more mature than modern artists like EFFING Lil Nas X! Who does he think he is? While it's music you may like and I respect that, why don't those people take examples from such successful people? That's what the first line means- 'up in smoke, pop goes the culture'.

There's also no voice of reason, and sadly over a decade later (as of March 15, 2023), tension is still super high, which is so sad. In fact, tension may very well be higher as many political topics are all being brought up at once. So where is your voice of reason? When can, when not talking about politics (by the way, those who say Green Day is too political have clearly only been listening to the hits. Listen to some Dookie or Nimrod or something not associated to their hits, from Warning, 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, or perhaps Father Of All Motherfuckers, excluding Oh Yeah!) and sex and drugs, can we have a genuine song? I'm so glad there are actual bands like Green Day, blink-182, Goalkeeper (check 'em out on Spotify), State Champs of zebrahead to make genuine music.

And clearly, in the chorus, he doesn't want to be sedated, he wants to face the music (forgive me) and be in pain and potential death.

Blink-182 – The Party Song Lyrics 2 years ago
This song had literally admitted 8 times 'some girls try too hard' a dead giveaway for this raunchy song's meaning. Some girls try too hard to impress, and though that comes from a pan, it's true. (both things: i really am.)

@[mechatanner:45560] I think it would be post-punk. However, I agree with you on that it's a catchy, fun song.

The goddang intro for this song is one of the best I've ever heard. The riff is so charming, spontaneous, aggressive and clever making it extremely catchy. More people should listen to it.

@[i:45465] am parker lewis I have to agree there... It makes it seem like a conspiracy, and though it was probably not, it's still a weird coincidence...
