My interpretation was a bit less literal when I first heard this song. For me, it was about someone in an "unsalvageable" situation, perhaps a severe depression, drug addiction and whatnot. So they plugged his brain into a machine, giving support, treatment, perhaps he found a good partner. The motor inside his head was still working, the silver white moon still shines bright, so why don't he put on a fight, and dream on? He can start back. And since hope is capable of making people wanting to live again, I believe dreaming is the thing that would resurrect that clinically dead dude. But first he needs that machine that will allow him to dream on. Idk if it was the real meaning, but I like it. |
