Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Sunday's Slave Lyrics 1 year ago
The most I could gain from this is that Sunday's slave is the church, and the song shows the possible greed and selfishness of certain church powers. The narrator works himself into a grave just for the church to bury him and forget. All the other days are left poor and starving, and these days are the non-religious. The bastard master is clearly God in this interpretation, but don't call him that to the church or they'll get mad, and if you whisper his name the church will try their hardest to convert you.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Shoot Me Down Lyrics 2 years ago
To me this song just screams panic attack. Nick is falling in love with someone but is scared of getting hurt and all those conflicting emotions gives him a panic attack and he just wants to run away and leave it all.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Watching Alice Lyrics 2 years ago
I think for sure it could be about Alice Liddell, or at least inspired by her. If you want the song to be as creepy as possible then yeah it could be the narrator watching a child get ready for school (I don't know much about skirts but can't they sometimes have zippers on the side). Or slightly less creepy I think it might just be a man watching a prostitute leave him in the morning, hence the 'its so depressing' bit, he hates that this is only way he can be with a woman. Regardless it's creepy and weird but a good song and pure Nick Cave.

At some point these have transformed and vibrated into the lyrics to Get Ready For Love

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Easy Money Lyrics 3 years ago
I think the song is narrated by both a prostitute, and someone who is hiring a prostitute and it's just a matter of perspective. More or less all the lines can be seen from either perspective, and the point of the song is simply that no matter your position in life, you'll always have problems. The rich man has too much money and tries and fails to buy love because he's lonely and dejected. The poor man can't feed his family so he has to sell his body to survive.
