Highly Suspect – My Name Is Human Lyrics 3 years ago
@[l187l:45116] also to further substantiate my addiction recovery theory I feel like I'm ready for love and I'm ready for war, I'm ready for more because there's more to life and no one's ever been this fucking ready before, as I'm utterly fed up with my addiction controlling me. I'm strong enough to beat this thing, after all just look where I came from. This shit doesn't have the power to control me, I'm fucking powerful. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm a human fucking being.

Highly Suspect – My Name Is Human Lyrics 3 years ago
@[l187l:45115] Hmm.. I'm in rehab rn and totally feeling the lyrics to this song. "I'm feeling the way that I'm feeling myself. Fuck everyone else." Yeap. Gotta take care of myself, time to stop worrying about everyone and everything else. Steps 4 and 5 of the 12 steps consist of making a fearless moral inventory of ourselves and admitting to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. The way I choose to interpret getting up off your knees is to break free of one's addiction and stand once again on your own two feet. Standing face to face with God means being able to look him in the eyes once again and regaining the strength to find out what you're truly worth. Regardless of my interpretation, however, it can't really be a "fuck you to religion" if it plainly acknowledges the the fact that your God actually exists. That in itself straight up validates religion, if anything at all. The beauty of songs is that the listener can interpret lyrics however they wish, just keep in mind that it's YOUR choice that makes it anti-religion from your pov, not the artist's.
