This song has some just amazing wit. “It’s hard to look you in face when we are talking So it helps to have a mirror in the room” “ I’m not looking forward to my performance But there’s my cue there’s a question on your face Fortunately I’ve got an answer Go away and don’t leave a trace” Just funny as |

| I think it’s a play on words, because coco is extremely similar to coca, which is coke (in Portuguese at least) which would make it a song about the dangers of cocaine addiction | |

| No, but they sound like rambling nonsense, while not being which just adds to the experience | |

| Honestly, I think this song is genius. I think it sort of encapsulates the feeling of realizing you’ve been violated. At first you hear the song and think ‘oh what a cute love song, so warm and comfortable’. And then you read the lyrics and slowly you begin to realise that you’ve been got. You realise this relationship is between a father and child, and that this is about sexual abuse. You feel sickened and disgusted. You genuinely feel like you’ve been manipulated. I went through the phases of grief reading the lyrics. It feels like you yourself have been sort of abused. | |

I feel like this song is about the fragility of celebrity reputations, the tabloids, the mob opinions. “I’m in trouble with my only friend” This seems to refer to the public, on who a celebrity’s reputation and career is staked on. They try to cover up their personal life but there are people always looking for headlines, “papering” up their windows, but they live in a glass house, it’s impossible. The second verse seems like a celebrity making a political commentary before being shot down by an agent, summarising how they must tread carefully. “Think of the starving millions” “Don’t talk politics or throw stones” The chorus is self explanatory, they can’t stick around for too long or they might say something that threatens their reputation. The next verse is from the viewpoint of the media, the people. They are looking for a target, a new piece of gossip or a new headline. It feels like they are telling the celebrity how to act and how to feel. “Once again we are hungry for a lynching” “You should turn the other cheek Living in a glass house” |
