| Joanna Newsom – Sprout and the Bean Lyrics | 2 years ago |

I think we hear songs the way we want to. That's why I love how opaque her lyrics can be - you really get to funnel your own emotions into them and feel them in a unique way. At least that's been my experience. So, I came here to say that when I listen to The Sprout and the Bean, I think about a relationship that didn't work out..for whatever reason. A beautiful bean never quite sprouted. And there are regretful feelings about it. I woke with distaste. A golden ring, a twisted string. Marriage, babies - the difference between what could have been, and what was. How can I feel better about this - should I go outside? Should we break bread? Such a beautiful, dreamy, almost chilling song. |
