| The plot of the movie is quite clear: The computer (which became self aware) that Miles bought for his research/work is broadcasting this song after taking over the radiostations to tell him (Miles) and the rest of the world that it (computer) has come to terms with Miles' relationship with Madeline, which it is now accepting. The lyrics tell of the time they (computer and Miles) had together and how it was in those days. Because the computer is "on air" from then on or "living" in the digital world which we now call internet, it is still present in Miles' life and will always be. Naturally we could shift focus of the whole text to Miles singing to his sentient computer with the same melancholy, but that was not really what happened in the movie. Lovely song, memories from those days and still fitting in our modern time. To be honest, that is all we are searching for in a song and maybe our own meaning is what counts in the end. | |
