@[jallen:44795] Dated a Catholic girl that struggled with suicide and other mental health issues when we discovered VAST. I always feared this song was prophetic and I'm glad to say at least as long as I had known her it wasn't. In that regard I honestly feel this song was also intended to convey that very experience to someone in such pain so that they might consider these things. I like to think it really did help her. Jon was always very kind when I talked to him about the struggles of adolescence and that relationship. Honestly he never seemed to be pushy about religion and I think the interview you can find on YouTube shows that he may be influenced by his religion but didn't want it to be perceived as a "gimmick" typical of Christian rock bands. Therefore I feel the line about the people outside your house is more questioning whether a fallen angel should be outside eternity, as you've said. |
