I really love this song... I'm someone living in the 21st century who'd have been much happier in the 18th or 19th century when we didn't have all the huge cities, concrete streets, cars, planes, noise and huge, ugly, smelly factories polluting the air. I grew up close to God awful New York City, and would have loved to have lived somewhere in the wilderness, perhaps in a place somewhat described by Marty Robbins in this song. He did such a fantastic job with it. |

@[annazoff:44663] , didn't know his granddad was a Texas Ranger... Thank you for the very interesting piece of information. No wonder Marty was on the right side of things. |

@[funnywhenurquiet:44660], this song is about a daddy's very young, little boy, not about a "friend". Listen to the words again. |

This is a fun song sung by a new dad about his very young son who, like so many new ones, wants and needs lots of food. There's nothing at all insulting in the lyrics and he's definitely not making fun of his little boy.
This is October of 2020 and I have to say far too many people today try as hard as they can to find things in life to be insulted by. They pick out one word in a sentence, paragraph or news article and get triggered by it, rather than looking at the true meaning of the entire structure, and make themselves upset. Why make yourself angry? You're harming yourself?
"They" are trying to remove words from our vocabulary because "they" are so uber sensitive about how "they" think someone else will feel, when the truth is it's all in their own little minds.
Look at this song as nothing more than a fun song, sung by a daddy about his chubby little boy, and sung in a loving way about the little boy. |
