This is a what's called bitter-sweet love song. It is ambiguous. You can read it as "i'm sorry, no matter what you do, i can't love you anymore". You can't make me love you anymore - implying what you did was bad and it's over. Or, "even if you did all these things (in the lyrics), my love for you is full. It's impossible to love you any more than i already very much do". Note the 'anymore' and 'any more'. Thanks, goodnight |
