This song is one of my favorites that Lana has ever written because I think that she explains beautifully the feeling of loving someone unconditionally. She fell in love with a man who was addicted to pills and though he pushed her away and tried to get her to leave him, she wanted to be there for him no matter what. |

Although I think that the meaning of this song is quite obvious, I also think that it's important to point out some details. This song is about someone who has an addiction to drugs and can't seem to escape it. They have isolated themselves from their friends and family which is why she wrote the line "Please don't try to find me through my dealer", because they're loved ones know that the only person they are contacting or communicating with is their dealer. They are trying to use drugs as an escape but they are wasting all their money, they're depressed, and they don't know where to go from here. |

I think that this song is about the glamorization of being a party girl. When she wrote the line "famous and dumb at an early age", I don't think she meant that Carmen was a celebrity, I think she meant that Carmen was "famous" and well known in her circle. She is charming, she get's what she wants, and everyone wants to be Carmen. I also think there's a chance that this song could be written about Lana herself because she has been very open about how she was a party girl when she was younger. |
