Isn't sad to listen to this song and then listen to the music of our generation.....man, Led Zeppelin surely had 4 incredible musicians (the best at each instrument). Deep deep lyrics and beautiful music. |

Does any else think this is Jimmy Page's best accoustincs??? As a guitar player, its unbelievable to me that way he plays in this song. My heart always seems to stop during the solo....UNBELIEVABLE! |

This is the 100th message posted for this song, this alone should be enough to see how many people respect this song, even those trying to diss it, deep down its respect and fear to the best song ever…….yes that is right, this is the best song ever and can only be described as Rock’s Anthem. You might like or nor but you can’t disagree with that statement. It a beautiful epic with all the musical elements meaning whatever you want it to mean…..heaven, drugs or whatever…..its beautiful. Now personally this is not my favorite Zeppelin song and it is sad for all those people that only know Zeppelin through this song……but it’s the best place to start. This may not be my favorite Zeppelin song but it opened up my eyes to the whole amazing world of Zep. To me its not their best because it does not define what Zeppelin really is. Have you listed to Bonham on D’yer M’ker, or John Paul Jones on Fool in the Rain, Page’s unbelievable blues riffs in Since I’ve Been Loving You or out-of-this world acoustics on Bron-y-aur Stomp, not to mention Plant’s shrieks on Whole Lotta Love. If you listen to Stairway to Heaven your listening to the greatest song ever but should be just your introduction to the best four musicians that ever got together……….but that’s just me!!! |
