It is "wonder of amazement at the open mind" and "childlike mind". The open and childlike mind are both characteristics of the psychedelic experience, as mentioned above, but more importantly, are a part of the nature of the ocean man. The ocean man understands a world on the edge of human thought, an unknown and unexplored land that is perceived by those who can still retain an open and childlike wonder at the depths of the human mind. The narrator wants to know if the ocean man can see through the wonder of amazement of the open mind, if he can look past the surface-level wonder of free thought into a world that is yet unknown. The narrator wants the ocean man to take him on a voyage into the ocean man's domain, where the impossible is possible and where the bold and innocent mind may uncover secrets beyond the edge of our reach or understanding. |
