| Dean Lewis – Half A Man Lyrics | 3 years ago |
|
In “Half A Man”, Dean Lewis pleads with his lover to not love him anymore. He feels like a lost cause and doesn’t want her to get hurt as he slips further and further down into the pit he has found himself in. He uses the metaphor of being a “sinking ship that’s burning,” to describe the desperate and disastrous situation that he has found himself in. With deep pain and regret, Dean begs a question that he may have disregarded when getting into the relationship in the first place. He asks himself how he could ever love someone else when he doesn’t even love himself. More importantly, how could he ever commit fully to somebody when he feels like he’s missing so much of himself. |
