@[JohnnySandbox:44023] Great comment. I am an amateur student of polari myself. I think it's important to hold on to our gay history any way we can. With all due respect to your knowledge and your post, I would like to make a correction. The word "drag" in polari does refer to clothes but on a much more specific sense. "Drag" referred to clothing that was particularly flamboyant. A common expression using the word at the time was "dragged up like a Sultan" meaning that someone was extravagantly overdressed. |
