This song is about looking down upon the toxic 9-5 culture of America and how it's an outdated and foolish way to live, and that the people who still believe it works are just stuck in their ways. This is especially evident in lines like "Have you had the same mentality since you were just a kid" and the main hook "It's either hard at work or hardly working at all" which pokes fun at their beliefs almost. |

It's pretty simple. It's about an addiction that nearly killed the subject of the song, and he wonders how he's still alive, despite numerous relapses and numerous instances of detox. One of my all tie favorites from Beartooth though, such a killer song. |
