The Boo Radleys – Wake Up Boo Lyrics 1 year ago
am I the only one who senses the desperation in this song - the SOUND is bright and optimistic and happy but are there a few lines in there that suggest that the optimism might be forced? "Wake up Boo - it's a beautiful Morning - for what could be the very last time" - does this not suggest that we might be singing to keep up the spirits of someone with a life-threatening illness that could take them from us any day now? - that line and the one about having to put the death in everything contrast shockingly with the ones that feel like an acid trip.,.,,.

The Cure – Six Different Ways Lyrics 3 years ago
I'm confident that Bob was into Hallucinogens around this time - maybe he was at a party with two or three girls he hoped would never meet - and in one of his thought-streams "they" see him acting strange and "think he's on his hands and head" but actually they are much too slow to catch him - but then his mind replies to itself - all those lies you try to tell yourself and others do come bubbling up to the surface - he might easily have found himself worried that since he's not reliably able to censor his thoughts "giving them more and more" he might "tell them anything at all", he might even give away so much he will lose his world.,.,.
