At the Drive-In – Lopsided Lyrics 3 years ago
I see this song about being a child (adopted?) to parents that don't care, and the journey to escape it. Easily could just be about escaping any situation or feeling that you are being held back by someone.

This is the accent of the half hearted land //A place that doesn't care about you
And if the ship was built in bottled sand //You're trapped

The anchors kiss was scrawled //Held back by your placement
In dyslexic crayon //A young child

Is this just a life preserver //Is this place really here to help you

Or a bivouac tenure //Or is your placement temporary
The tropic of cancer answered
Drink the quicksand //Youre forced to be stuck here
A mirror was splintered on the deck floor //Bad luck

A stowaway that lived beneath this hull //Treated like you don't belong

It's gills will swim faster after a branch //Once you get out of here, you'll thrive
From the shore

Breathe the taste of salt water //Taste of freedom
Dry heave up and overboard //It will be a difficult journey
Ponce De Leon wrinkles
Let's make it young again //Start over fresh

Boat drinks for captains //Thanks to those that help you escape
Row our boat away stowaway //Don't look back, wish you well

If our map was torn navigate, navigate //No matter what setbacks you face, you must try to make it
If your compass broke navigate, navigate
