| The story with that is that Andrew Eldritch (who was having one of his many episodes of writer's block) didn't have many ideas for lyrics. An old school friend of Eldritch called Boyd Steemson was running Merciful Release for him and found a NATO manual on ammunition in an army surplus shop. He dictated those passages down the phone to Eldritch, and Lucas Fox (the original drummer in Motorhead) read them out over a backing track, which weirdly is perfect. | |
