@[youjustwokeup:43428] I like your interpretation. I’m not totally sure the friend back home did more drugs because of anything about Connor though. Also not sure the beginning is an illustration of his state when he’s reflecting or the state that he’s reflecting on. Could be either. |

I think the song is about a friend who died. Remembering past times, probably college (you don’t really get incompletes in high school).
Connor left the “sorrowful Midwest” to pursue his music career and his friend stayed and eventually OD’d. |
