From the opening verse, the lyrics reference coming out of the gates fast and to me that's the youth of the 1970's. Later references watching TV & nearly losing his mind. Here in 2022, you can see how twisted TV has become really, the news & just about anything else. As the song's lyrics progress, the younger generation are either shooting stars lighting up the skies and either burning out or becoming the next stars of success. As the children grow, you won't "recognize" them anymore. They transcend their more humble & traditional beginnings. |
