I can't believe how wrong most people get the lyrics to this song. Everywhere I look on the internet I see people misinterpreting this song and the lyrics don't even make any since. Here's how the song lyrics really go:. What can I say to this child of my own When he looks up to me for the answer You got trust in his eyes and such innocent ways Bout all the words I can say Can I tell him of my life And can it be used for his own life goals and examples To follow and finally remember some day Bout all the words I can say I could say I once was a boy just like you And I understand the things your feeling But later in life I'm afraid he just might say The old man is always acting that way Now I think of my daddy he wore these kind of shoes And after all this time I think I know him I'd like to say I love him but the time has passed away Bout all the words I can say Bout all the words I can say After you get the words right, the meaning is pretty obvious. It's a beautiful song of a father's love for his son. I loved it the first time I heard it but my son said it didn't mean much to him until he had a son of his own and now he loves it as much as me. RIP Leon. |
