my interpretation.. this song really hits me.. JD's lyrics are many times 'meditative' and mind expanding.. to me, this song is about waking up and 'painting' his own reality each morning.. regardless of our own situations, we all have the option to make our situation into an amazingly positive one or otherwise.. it would appear that he chooses the prior.. then specifically the lines While we open up the spaces (mind expanding meditation possibly) Try to break some chains And if the truth is told (expose those 'not good' things from our past) They will never come again (the truth will set you free, I can attest).. again, just how this song 'hits' me.. and I find this meditative side of JD in a lot of his lyrics.. fantastic poems that he has left behind for us all to enjoy!
