Alright ucanallkissmyass...kiss MY ass, don't diss tremontifan, "cuz" first off, "u" "dunt" seem "2" "b" able "2" spell much better than her, if at all. *she* did a fucking typo, whereas "u" on the other hand, can't spell "4" shit. And lets face it, sakater boy is a hell of a lot better than sk8tr boi or however she spells it.
Oh, and PS, ever heard avril in concert? she sucks. |

*sigh* this was one of the first Tim McGraw songs I ever heard...way back in 6th grade. I remember then my friend and I used to make fun of it, b/c it was (*gasp* GOD FORBID!) country music, but secretly I liked it. I didn't want to tell her this or she would be making fun of *me* instead of the song. 5 years later and Im going to a Tim McGraw concert in less than a month! mwa ha ha. |

At the risk of being redundant, this is a great song. Benji and Joel went through so much with their father and all and they express their anger for him repeatedly (i.e. calling him a "DICK!!!" or the song Complicated) but they still have so much love for their mother. Any mother who's husband walked out on her and two sons has got to be both mentally and physically strong. She deserves this song.
And seasontheday...benji and joel are twins. |

This is one of my favorite Divinity Destroyed songs out there...hell, its one of my favorite songs, period. The lyrics and the passion that Mark Ward sings with is so piercing and it allows you to feel the emotions pouring out.
Someone or somehting has deeply wounded the speaker in this, and for it he hates not only them, but him/herself as well.
Oh, Ps, it took me forever to understand the name...haha Im an idiot |

I love this song with a bloody passion. Its sounds so upbeat and shit, but then you listen to the lyrics and its like *not* so happy. I think the expression in it is clear, and only too often I can relate with the helpless feelings and hatred for the rest of the world. The happier rhythms that don't match the lyrics I think is like the mask one might put on to hid the true them from all the too self-absorbed, denying, or oblivious people that think they know them. Its kind of like saying, dig deeper, look to the true meaning of htis song, not the beat, but the lyrics. If you really want to know someone, delve deeper than the hair, the make-up, the clothes, the smile...cos it may all just be a hoax, a way to stream past the "Oh I won't tell" people to the "I'd risk my life for you if it came to that" people. |

Alright, I'm not here to tell you what this song means to me....I just have a funny story to share about it...The other night a couple of friends came over, and this song was on, and during the musical interlude where they shout CHANGES every once in a while, my friend Mike started to sing and dance along. Well, he was really getting into it with his eyes closed and all and so I took out my video camera and began recording. Most of the song was through by the time my other friend told him I had been filming. The whole time Mike had been playing imaginary drums while shouting "CHANGES" at the top of his lungs in a high pitched voice whenever Yes said it. And when it came to parts *other* than that, he didn't know the words, so he sang "I don't know the words to this part!" all the while keeping the high pitched voice and drumming going strong.
*notices the bewildered stares she is getting*
Uh...I guess you just had to be there.... |
