| I think the song has to do with someone, a girl, going through a phase of dramatic change or some sort of forgiveness. I once thought that "gathering rain" was crying, but I'm not so sure... I think it is fairly clear that whoever this lady is, she has been in hiding (literal or not) for some time and is now coming back out into reality, ready for a new life. | |

I always thought the fourth part of the song went like this: Get to the side 'cause I'm the bonecracker, The come-from-behind, I'm the back-attacker, Bomb down the line and I'll start with a base hit, Down to your feet and your ankles are wet, The crack of the bat and the crews of the night script, That's right in the (something), right to the bullpen... But I could never forget out what all that meant. Strange how so many parts sound like something in baseball... Thanks for the (better) lyrics. |

I once listened to this song non-stop for an hour...I love the guitar riff between the second verse and the countdown, it's amazing! The lyrics are also very good (like all Creed songs). The hero part means a lot to me, because I often become attached to things/various people (heros), but in the end, none of them last, except friends and families. Of course, this is just my interpretation. The beauty of "Are You Ready" is it can be seen to mean so many different things... Gotta love it. |

This is one of my favorite songs-- obviously, since I'm the one that posted it. The words are a little fuzzy in the last three sections, but I think its close... If you've heard the song and think you know the right lyrics, let me know. Back the meaning, this is a song about being on the road (ohh..), and the troubles that brings to life and relationships. Looking at the lyrics you'd think it was called "Living on the Road" or something... Actually, Jack Kerouac is a semi-famous author/poet, part of the Beat Generation. Anyway, its a great song, go download it! |
