John Mayer – Kid A (Radiohead cover) Lyrics 23 years ago
i really can't imagine john mayer and his guitar covering this song, it's computer generated, so what the hell. John Mayer does not have computer-savvy music. I would really like to hear this cover.

Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics 23 years ago
interestin interpretations, everyone, but no one has talked about the line that comes after "two colours in my head", "what was that you tried to say?" I have no idea what this song means, its so open to many interpretations. A+ by the way, any beefs with lyrics by Radiohead can be solved at their website, they have a listing of their lyrics, i believe

Pearl Jam – In My Tree Lyrics 23 years ago
I think Eddie's trying to express how alone he feels. I always get dates confused and I forget when he split up with Beth, but I think it was before 1996 when this song was released, I think the song is about the present and not about his past. I know a few years ago a crazy fan drove a car through his house in Seattle, no joke. When shit like that happens, its easy to feel really isolated from reality. Think about it, a bunch of crazy fans are always hounding him and doing crazy shit, but no one really knows him, and all his friends are too busy with their own endeavors, they don't really know him anymore either, or take time to notice. He's in his tree partly unwillingly and partly on his own accord; in the first stanza he's talking about it in a positive way, but it seems sort of a false optimism "trading stories with the leaves...". He also makes some startling revelations about thins and himself, "they say knowledge is a tree, it's growing up just like me," and "my eyes feel both wide open, and I got a glimps of my inner sense". He's not entirely happy being alone, but he's settled with it, and at least he's still got his innocence, his inner sense, if nothing else. No Code is my favorite album, and it is very underrated. People who aren't true Pearl Jam fans just don't understand.

Pearl Jam – Nothing as It Seems Lyrics 23 years ago
I like SwornToTheBlack's idea about this song, but I don't see how the line "One uninvited chromosome, a blanket like the ozone" fits in. I love that line, though, I'm trying to figure out what it means in context. Someone help me out!

Coldplay – God Put a Smile Upon Your Face Lyrics 23 years ago
I think BuckWilder is correct about the lyrics. I just saw Coldplay live, and I was surprised at how unmelancholy the concert was, it was super-loud when I sort of expected a Parachutes kind of quietness. This song was awesome live.

Dave Matthews Band – Gravedigger Lyrics 23 years ago
I just heard this song for the first time, it was live at the Gorge in Washington, it mezmerized all 20,000 people that were there. He played it as an encore at the end before he ended with Ants Marching. He also played Satellite and One Sweet World at this performance and apparently the concert is being turned into a documentary for TV or DVD. My friends think it's going to be a CD too, because he usually doesn't play Sattelite or One Sweet World Live.

Yes – Close to the Edge Lyrics 23 years ago
Even before I knew the actual lyrics to this song, the way it builds up to the part that goes "I get up, I get down" almost brings a tear of joy to my eye every freakin' time just because of the emotional and musical set-up. In terms of musical technical ability and lyrics and emotion, Yes is probably the best band I've ever heard. This song is pure genius in every aspect through and through; almost all of their songs are. This song is 18 minutes long and I couldn't find a spot where I wanted to stop listening.

Pearl Jam – No Way Lyrics 23 years ago
I was talking to someone who thought this song had something to do with a charity thing or some sort of good deed that Eddie did. Then it got a lot of press, and it made him uncomfortable. He's saying he's not looking for the attention from a deed, and its absurd how it was blown out of proportion. I thought that was an interesting view of this song.

Pearl Jam – Oceans Lyrics 23 years ago
In the unplugged version of this back in the day, eddie changed the last "oh yeah"'s to "oh Beth, oh beth," his wife. I don't know if the unplugged concert of this was before or after or during their separation. I'm about to leave for college and it sucks (in terms of friendships and relationships), this song is all i think about. MY favorite line is "...We're all allowed to dream of the next time we touch..."
