I love songs that open themselves up to personal interpretation. I have no idea what was really intended, but what I hear is an inner struggle between a part of you that says "what I should be" and the part of you that says "but this IS me". "nobody loves you; nobody has to" That. Is. It. Right now in my life, at 53, this is what this song says to me. Again, after all this time. Hard lesson, but a worthy one. |
