this song has made me cry so many times. I know that more than likely it's about a broken down relationship, but for me, it's about one of my dearest friends, Cassy, who died suddenly at the age of 19 from a heart condition... "And I have the sense to recognize that I don't know how to let you go"...... because it has taken me a long time to let her go. it has been 4 years now, and still I miss her so much... "every moment marked with apparitions of your soul ".... because everywhere I look, every song I hear, every thing I do, there are reminders of Cassy and times we spent together.. and I have this yearning to be near her, just to have my friend in my life again, but I know I can't go with her as she has moved on to somewhere that I know it's not my time to visit yet, so "I do what I have to do" to get by knowing that I can never hear her beautiful laughter again in this lifetime... |
