Manic Street Preachers – Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel? Lyrics 3 years ago
It's the longing of a person who knows they need a saviour - to be delivered from oppression, from the pains and difficulties of everyday life, from their own failures and shortcomings ... The longing for every man to be saved - knowing that God loves us so much He chose to give His own Son to save us, because He wants to save every man. (John 3:16) It's the wrestling with the reality that despite of this not every man is saved.
"If my Lord delivered these men - from impossible situations and "sure death" - why not every man?!" (Comp. Daniel 6, Jonah 2, Daniel 3)

It's also faith in the God who did these things. "Even if the sun disappears and the stars will no longer shine, He will deliver me!"

It's the assurance of knowing that having accepted the Gospel, this person has "crossed the Jordan" into the "promised land" Canaan (Joshua 1-5) and nobody can take this from them.
