I read all the comments, and while I can see it possibly being about homosexuality, I have always thought and still think that it's about marijuana. I could see how a radical priest would try to save the boy from being jailed for marijuana, yet the Mama pajama like many of our parents thought that marijuana was evil, and so her and Papa were very upset with their son. When Simon was young, marijuana was definitely thought of as being a very bad thing, even worse than it is today or even in the 70s. Maybe rosie, the queen of Corona was the dealer... Who got ratted on by one of the boys. |

I think the first verse is just saying that life is crazy, that it's full of a lot of b. s. The rest of the song is saying that regardless, you won't get out alive anyway. |

I was buying albums at the time this album first came out, and ever since then I have never understood the title and the lyric, particularly the "low spark of high heeled boys". Only one or two other people referred to the meaning of that. What high-heeled boys is he referring to? When I think of high heeled boys I think of crossdressers. Who else wears high heels? Can someone please comment on this? Exactly who are these boys in high heels that he refers to? The only comment that really makes sense to me regarding this is the one about Glam bands. So maybe it is correct that this song is about not liking Glam bands, and the music industry that created them or promoted them? |
