| Although, I believe with the majority that this song is about a mother who's son just left home. I believe it eludes to the son leaving home and trying to find his way and sadly ends up finding the wrong path of drugs. Ie the snake that will get him off the floor. But she's afraid he is dying yet he has his piece of mind... and found his place in outer space. I feel as if the perspective is multiple different people throughout the song. It's a truly heart breaking song because I have gone through this within my own family. And maybe this is just my perspective on the song. It just sounds like a mother who unfortunately feels guilty for letting her son leave home to try and find himself and he ended up on a path that ultimately crushed her. | |
