@[TheTan:46792] I've seen the video and there are two women, an older rather raddled one and a younger fresher one he seems in love with. The older one is taking pills. The patent details are subverted to fit the narrative that's acceptable namely he was happily married to Iman. Innocence in your arms is obviously a new born baby and this was still 1999, b4 Lexie was born. I happen to know Marianne had a child by him end '98 beg 99. See it all fits!. I actually am Thursday's child. I don't mean exclusively in the song but I was actually born on Thurs which Bowie of course knew so he used it. He seemed to be lamenting the fact he felt so akin with me but we were never going anywhere together and certainly I'd never had any career success or success of any kind in the eyes of the world. |

I used to call myself 'Bowie's fall girl' all the time b4 this record was released sol he turned it around and called himself fall dog or alternatively me(both could be correct) when I was in smart time I.e. when my anti-psychotic drugs weren't working or I was off them and back to my brilliant best. Devil in your bleeding face devil in the market place? That's the way the drugs (prescription -don't get excited!) affect me - lmake me ugly and devilishly aggressive and people in public react badly to me accordingly. Oil on my hands is yes about corporate sort of wealth and worldliness but also about baby oil and his night time sex with Marianne. Blowing someone away is both to get rid of them and attract them. Typical of Bowie to leave you confused! |

In January '84 I found a new exciting group of friends whilst at art college in Newcastle and for the next 9 months forgot David Bowie. No letters, no yearning, nothing. In an elemental way he wanted to make me remember him again and end up in his orbit and power so he wrote this. It came out either Sept or Oct can't recall exactly and straightaway I responded. Back on the treadmill and prey to the system unfortunately. |

Due to a couplet in the song I'm convinced this song is aimed at La Garvey but knowing what I know generally I'd have come to that conclusion anyway. Where Bowie says "You're in the boat babel , we're in the water" makes me think of an incident in front of my flat at the canals edge about a year or so b4 the album came out. I'd heard Bowie say he 'loved me' and Marianne called him a bastard or something and pushed him into the canal. There was a great commotion and people pulled him.out and I heard him say "I'm soaking". I didn't see what happened but it was clear from the sounds what was going on. Often I heard people, usually young women and girls getting excited and screaming "Bowie" at sight of him. He was on my tail for half his life if truth be known. |

@[liplex:42399] This is a percipient response but only in the mental illness system and I use the word 'illness' instead of 'health' advisedly are people 'crazy' or 'abnormal mentally'. You all know I have never hallucinated or even suffered delusions but it is true that the future looks very bleak as does the past (if very interesting) and I'm at loggerheads with the whole human family thru all this -that's true enough. I'm also at odds with my immediate family David being a would-be brother- in-law even tho he was my beloved paramour of my own for many years. |

Bowie effectively made me celibate and loveless by publicly humiliating me to the enth degree. Don't you think most people want ' the right fit' in a partner who will go the distance?

It wasn't "your beautiful girl" but "you're A beautiful girl" If you're going to be a Bowie fan read and listen properly to the lyrics!! I happen to have personal knowledge of this song (Like most Bowie songs) The other interpretations are elegaic and poesy on the whole but specious. Are you really saying you don\'t know what it\'s about?!\nObviously 22 because in 2013 Marianne (Garvey) had been in his life that time from age 9. She is alleging she\'s afraid of my potential and ability to take back Bowie (OK I wasn\'t with him in truth but the possibility existed) so she has been goading the lunatic men i.e. the mental illness system to persecute me. This is reality and as tragic as it gets after approx 20 hellish stays in acute wards being bullied and victimised. The rest of the time in the community I\'ve been subject to CTO\'s at her behest so under chemical oppression and harm. Very occasionally have I been able to get free invariably resulting in another compulsory detention. \'They\'re like the grave\'. Well that\'s pretty clear. Yes what has she done? All romance between myself and David up in flames!!\nWhen he talks of a new life with maids and a new country ( actually that\'s a pun _axe sent) he\'s talking of life after me when she and he are able to start again presumably when the system have done their worst to me. I do think it funny how creative and playful you all are in not revealing the bald facts when you\'re fully cognizant. It\'s obvious what he\'s telling you if you watch tv or trawl the internet. |
