@edenroseYes! I completely agree. I think you are spot on. Or maybe she knows she loves him, but for whatever reasons she is afraid to take the plunge, and the song is her talking to herself and rationalizing. |

Why do people think that every song is autobiographical? To me, the narrator is not talking to the guy. She is talking to her self. She has feelings for this guy, and likely the guy has feelings for her. But she is afraid of taking the plunge, for whatever reason. Maybe past abuse, or some guy cheated on her. It doesn\'t really matter. Just listen to the last line of the verses. To me, that makes it clear that she doesn\'t mean what she says, and she does indeed have genuine feelings for the guy. |

@[BlixerXtra:41447] I think you are way over thinking this. I mean you wrote a whole essay! Its simple. She has feelings for some guy, but for whatever reason is afraid to get close. She is rationalizing this in her mind. |

@[My:41445] Interpretation Yes, this! Finally! She has feelings for a guy but for whatever reason she is afraid to get emotionally close. She isnt singing to the guy, but singing to herself, maybe rationalizing in her mind. |
