fairytales. cinderella, loss of innocence, leaving before we feel ready to be given away, \nbreadcrumbs and hansel and Gretel, before the wolf comes, Beauty and the Beast, dancing with all that is the strange but desired as one leaves the nest of maternal love security. one of the most amazing of her songs IMO, chills me to the bone.

@[zipperwhipped:41443] i think the double meanings are always in her writing. she shifts time, she writes through her continuum , she weaves her heart/ romantic misfortunes with her experiences in industry as an artist, double meanings always, always Both, all, mastering words as memories linked by both embodiment and pain memory, her collections of lived time weaving together dual times/ traumas, lost wishes. . . \r\nso everything written above me, and below, and then some more after that is all true in my interpretation, for however long people \r\n continue to find these treasures.

@[andshedied:41441] love your interpretation, always felt just the same as youve shared about these lyric\'s meaning. This was THE song that caught me.. as is Florence and the Machine\'s recent \'BIG God" song as well. they pair quite nicely in tandem with a smokey whisky and deep cherry chocolate

@[BrokenNailz:41440] yes, its definitely both, i do wish the album was sectioned into war / relationships of love, with a symbol where the two subjects / topics of lyrics meanings meet. as with Joni Mitchell, Tori might consider writing a book with annotations for all of their \r\n deeply couched mastermind lyric and buried shadow meanings. ill always enjoy hearing what we, as her listeners might perceive and envision in this genre of magnificent songwriting

@[Miyamashi:41439] yup- thats surely a part of the Lyric messaging. "smacked upside the head"\r\n "D-raid" \r\nbut also may be mixed with simultaneous new fast paced relationship that outshines the past simple stable maybe more predictable and ending relationship?
