@[rbach48:50842] My father is definitely who I think of when I hear this. I’ve had a Brain Tumor and I’m not even supposed to be alive especially after all of my brain surgery, years of chemotherapy and radiation. I’ve been on my deathbed three times in my life. Now I’m disabled from a tumor on my spine that causes incredible pain. My family has a headstone and a lot for me. My dad is the one who constantly runs to get my medication and painkillers. I’m 42 now but still walking around and kicking. I need a wheelchair a lot or at least a cain. I can still drive. I’ve been a Master Mechanic almost all my life and fix, build cars, trucks vans muscle cars until I became disabled. Now my dad drives me everywhere. Doctor appointments and all sorts of stuff! He’s my hero because of all he does for me now that I’m broken and too sick. He’s ordinary but he’s my biggest hero besides Jesus. I always hear this song in my head when I watch him leave. |

Not one comment? That’s surprising! Phil Collins wrote this album Face Value back in the early 80’s after Peter Gabriel left Genesis and Collins continued his solo work. The song itself is obvious. A poor family living in a small home struggling to get through the winter. Yet the outlook of the story teller is optimistic. With so many of Phil Collins songs being hits and ten of those reaching #1 on the board there are so many deep tracks to be explored by both the new and older generations. Many of these deep tracks are hidden gems and that’s usually how I find a favorite song when listening to a new band. So don’t just get hung up on a bands hits or you risk missing out on others to be found. |

@[ElderOblivion:50536] When I bought the album when it first released I knew about the title hidden track at the end because I was and still am a huge Stone Temple Pilots fan so I always kept up to date with everything going on with them and don’t remember where I first heard about the hidden track or whatever other news I would keep my friends up to date with whatever was going on and visa versa betwe were always waiting to hear anything news about new albums or concerts coming and when they would be on tv like Saturday Night Live or Letterman or whatever! |

@[6teenstone:50532] Scott didn’t sing this song. I forgot the name of the guy but I think it’s a band from the 50’s, 60’s or the 80’s. I think they listed the guy’s name somewhere on the album. You have to give credit on an an album just like on TV when you sing or play someone else’s song, show or movie. It’s all apart of licensing rights. |

But I think whoever had the original idea for the song is questioning God about Death, War, and all of the horrible things in the world. However death itself is only natural except for people take their life into their own hands. In reality God can’t control the people of the world like puppets. He has the power to but what would be the point of giving life? It’s really people that are always killing, fighting and doing horrible things to others unfortunately. By the way, Rap definitely sucks! |

This is definitely my favorite song on the album. Originally thought this was about meeting a girl (but not his Mother) for the first time but it makes sense. A lot of times I hear about people writing a song about this or that originally stating it w was about a particular subject or person to later claim it was about someone or something completely different. But great song and album after each person playing for a different group for a long time. It took me a long time do you accept Travis filling in for Shannon. It was very difficult for me being a large fan of Hoon. But this turned out to be a great album. RIP Shannon Hoon |

I can’t believe there isn’t a single comment about this song. The beginning of this song is the obvious, but I’m not sure about the rest.
But this is one of my many favorite by Tears for Fears songs, and that is saying a LOT!!!! There isn’t a single songs that I have written that I don’t love! These guys are few of the very of the best bands out there!!!! Every album they have written is a treasure. I’ve been an enormous fan ever since I first came out and always will be. |

This song is describing how high Scott was to even get up and piss. His only option is to relieve himself from in a very comfortable expensive bed for his woman who is obviously not there there, likely because of his current state. Love this song. It’s chill and always makes me laugh. But his addiction was not funny at all. They were incredible to see and and I’m thankful I’ve been to so many of their concerts. RIP SCOTT |

I’m really surprised no one has commented on this song yet. The Crash Test Dummies should’ve been huge. Or at least a lot larger than they were. They didn’t have one bad album.\n\nTo me this song seems to be thinking about a person they were once with or at least about the better times they’ve had in the past together and these thoughts have seemed to catch them a off guard. |

Easily one of TFF’s best songs. But then again, There isn’t a TFFs song I don’t love. I’ve carried Tears for Fears with my through the vast majority of my life and with serious health problems since a young age, I’ve always felt so much in common with the music and band.. To me it’s as if Roland is singing from the standpoint of a councilor or therapist. And he repeats the phrase “Find out what this fear is about,” as told by the the person he is paying to listen and help identify. This is the equation he needs to find the answer to the source of his hurting and/ or fears. Personally I believe his answer to fighting it lies within the music he makes. He may not understand the source but he definitely found an answer to overcoming it. Tears For Fears has and will always be at the very top of my music collection and that really is saying a lot!!! I highly recommend their new album The Tipping Point!!! And yes, it features both Roland and Curt!!! |
