I think this song is about confusion and resonates with feeling unsure or stuck with your sense of self, your identity. Who you are! There\'s a desperation in the "look at me...please look at me my love." Yoko, was his love, so that might be what the song is about. His desperate need for her love. It could be about a fight they had, and he wants her to see his point of view. "Look at me" might be vague for "look at my side of the story". |

I think the song is about feeling different to the people around you. \n"Everybody\'s talking at me, I don\'t hear a word they\'re saying" might suggest people talk to him but he\'s in his own world as he only hears the "echoes of his mind". Anxiety? He\'s someone reserved, someone misunderstood. "People stop and staring" might suggest he looks "different" to other people...but he\'s misunderstood. The tone of his voice hints that it\'s quite sad, but there\'s a sense of hope around the corner with the reference to "going where the sun keeps shining, through the pouring rain." Despite the bad, he goes to the good. xoxo |
