Seeing as jeremy is a christian and writes almost entirely about God/ Jesus this song is about his faith/ relationship with Jesus going in circles, back and forth with his belief, going astray. In his song "pillars' he's once again walking and talking in circles waiting for his faith to turn around. - "Don't tell me you've gone astray I walk in circles" Meet me in the blue where words are not refers to meeting God/ Jesus in a prayer/ dream world. "Sincerity Trust in me (trust in Jesus) Throw myself into your door" - Anytime he mentions a door it's referring to the door of jesus - Jesus made this urgent plea: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20). Next verse he dreams to heal the wounds of Jesus but ends up bleeding himself through his disbelief/ going astray I suppose. During the solo break in live shows he sings "you opened my eyes while I was sleeping" which is clearly talking about Jesus waking him up spiritually. "Running down" to me means he's running down the stairs of heaven (the blankets were the stairs - dreamworld stairs to heaven) or just running himself down, wearing himself out going in circles with his faith. |
