I enjoy the melody and the music, but I actively dislike this song because of the lyrics. They’re entirely too creepy for me to listen to comfortably. He starts off pitying himself for the way he feels, which isn’t _too_ egregious, until it builds up to “like the chemicals that war in me, til I’m a wolf with an eye for the ponies”... which, to me, sounds like he’s gonna rape her. Barf. I’m sure someone reading this will think I’m being entirely too sensitive, but as someone who has been in the position of the girl in the song, this is a really tough listen. |

I really like this song, but it’s one of few I know that I’m able to derive literally zero meaning from. The lyrics _sound_ nice, and each verse makes sense on its own, but I’m not entirely convinced that they mean anything when strung together. I guess it doesn’t have to mean anything? |
