Avalon is not described as a place where apples grow. It\'s simply its meaning. In celtic it means island of the apples.\r\nApples have in many cultures a religious or mystical meaning. Adam and eve, the apple of Helen of Troy, the apples that kept the Norse gods young. It\'s even been a symbol for kings.\r\n |

@[kln:40857] The Jerry Hall explanation isn\'t possible. She left Ferry in the late 70s. Mists of Avalon was written in the early 80s, around the same time the song was released. It\'s unlikely Ferry even knew of the book before he finished the song. |
