even though taking back sunday wrote a song in response to this song, i think "there's no i in team" is much more powerful than this. not only are the lyrics stronger, but the vocals are filled with much more emotion and show the true meaning of powerful. my advice, download: taking back sunday- "there's no I in team" |

alright, i basically agree with everyone. the first verse - i think she's hoping for one special guy and to have a chance with him, or for him to notice her. but just when she thinks her chances are approaching, they don't and ends in dissappointment [ i thought it was a bird but it was just a paperbag ] second verse- she's obviously depressed and going 'crazy again today' and he can't help her. he doesn't want to help her, and that's what she needs.. she needs him to stay and [ put a little love here in my void ] but once again, he fails her and she doesn't get what she expects and deserves. chrous- as for the chorus, i'm a little iffy about that. i understand the whole deeper meaning to it shit that everyone's thinking. the first time i heard it i tried to find the deeper meaning in it too, but maybe the meaning isn't as deep as we all thought- **hunger hurts but starving works** she may be depressed because the man is 'just a little boy' and we all know eating disorders come from depression. hunger hurts, but starving takes away the pain and takes away the thought of the little boy. maybe the deeper meaning is what fiona wanted us to look into and is right, but sometimes we think too much of things. maybe we'll never know. |

this song is the most beautiful song i've ever heard. not only the lyrics, but the music that goes along with it. fiona sings this with such meaning in her voice and it's clear the song is intended to make you think and was written during a confusing and anxious time. this song is extreamly important to me and i've related to it during various situations since the first time i heard it. it's one of those songs that it's alright to cry to. tears of sadness -and- joy. to me, this song expresses her love for someone and even though he returns it, he doesn't return it in the way he once did, or the way she knows he can. he's too scared to admit, too scared to believe, too scared to UNDERSTAND that he LOVES her the way she loves him. typical male situation. fiona for president. |
