this song was written by izzy drew lynn who was the old guitarist of nofx who played on ribbed and i think the other albums before that i dont know but i know he played on ribbed and he wrote the song and sung it on the album ribbed so why don't you get the album and read the booklet this song is a NOFX song |

those oi bands may dress like that but the image is not punk. punk is not an image.i never said that all those bands say you can only be punk if u have a studded belt and mohawk. but when all these fucking losers that think they are punk start listening to these bands they dont understand what they are doing. they rip off the way the bands look and they honestly beleive that punk is an image.when you listen to anti flag sing songs like "fuck police brutality" and unseens "goodbye america (i think thats what its called)" and you immediatly start saying "fuck america" and "fuck police" but have nothing to back yourself up with i would think that you are pretty stupid and that you are not thinking for yourself at all.and there is ALOT of fucking people like that i know. |

punk means thinking for yerself.
i hate how the casualties and all these street punk bands have gotten all these kids to run around with studded belts and mohawks. i mean what is punk now? some people say that punk has been ruined by mtv, and sum 41 and avril lavigne. but honestly, i mean if you listen to the casualties,anti flag,the unseen, stop for a second. and think. are you really thinking for yourself? or are the bands you're listening to think for you? look at bad religion.greg graffin,who is prob the best punk lyricist,in my opinion at least (up there with jello biafra)doesnt wear studded belts. he doesnt have a mohawk. cause he is a punk. he doesnt need others to tell him to get a mohawk to be punk. he thinks for himself. did jello biafra ever get a mohawk? the only pics ive seen of him are him wearing jeans or something and some wacky t shirt and a glove. prob because he didnt rely on punk as a fashion.following the crowd can be risky.when we rely on the opinions of others in making moral decisions we are accepting their values.and thats what "punk" is all about. |
