JP Saxe – If The World Was Ending (with Julia Michaels) Lyrics 3 years ago
My interpretation of this song starts with the metaphorical earthquake. Often in songs, certain words or phrases don\'t comply with their literal meaning. In this case, "I was distracted, and in traffic, I didn\'t feel it when the earthquake happened" suggests that he was in his own head a lot during her mental collapse. I think the "earthquake" in this song suggests that someone drastic happened in both of their lives, that made them think of each other. \n\n"I know, you know, we know we weren\'t made for each other and it\'s fine. But if the world was ending you\'d come over right?" displays the theme of love. Even when two people know they aren\'t meant for each other, you can\'t help who you love. They know they wouldn\'t work out in the long run, but if something terrible ever was to happen, and it threatened their safety, they\'d come back to each other. \n\nEven though they aren\'t made for each other, they\'ll always wish what could\'ve been. What it would be like if they were.

Avicii – Wake Me Up Lyrics 3 years ago
I think this song is about wanting to grow up and be a better version of yourself, without all the pain that comes along with character development and age. \n\n"Wake me up when it\'s all over" (wake him up when all the pain isn\'t there anymore)\n"When I\'m wiser and I\'m older" (wanting to be older and wiser to hurry along with his life).\n"All this time I\'ve been finding myself but I didn\'t know I was lost" (he\'s realising that suppressing pain pushes people away, therefore losing himself in the process).\n\n"I tried carrying the weight of the world. But I only had two hands" represents the theme of wanting to solve everyone\'s problems and be the person to talk to for everybody, but not having enough mental space for it all to stay in there. Slowly, everyone\'s problems also became his problems, therefore resulting in him wanting to be woken up when he\'s older and wiser. he wants a break from the pain. From the unfortunates of life.\n\n"Life\'s a game made for everyone. And love is the prize" shows how young ignorance can take over someone\'s mind. Lots of people think that you live life to find that somebody that makes life suck a little less, but what people don\'t realise, is that you can be that person for yourself.

James Arthur – Quite Miss Home Lyrics 3 years ago
\'I\'ve been gone on business. I gotta make some money. I really feel the distance\' shows that he\'s on a business trip and he\'s missing the person he loves who is back home. He keeps thinking about the little things in their relationship that clearly meant a lot to him, even something as little as going to a bar with \'the blinking sign\' one night.\nHe wants to come back to her. He wants to walk into the house with his shoes on and for her to tell him to "leave your shoes at the door, cause I\'ve just swept the floor and the dirt drives me crazy". \nWhen it refers to the rain hitting the window with her in his arms watching the TV being poetry, being sheltered from the rain actually gives people a sense of protection and security, therefore comparing it to the feeling poetry can give someone.\n\nOverall, this song really explores the themes of love and how when you love someone so much, all these memories, no matter how important or how insignificant compared to the bigger scheme of things they are, they\'re always there. Reminding us that the one we love the most is the hardest to forget.
